Try spicing up your typical burger with some Indian flare!  Spice are a great way to get an extra antioxidant boost!  You can eat ground beef on a healthy meal plan, just make sure that its extra lean!

Serves: 4

Serving Size:1 Burger


1 lb Extra Lean Ground Beef

1/2 onion, diced

1 egg white

2 tsp Cumin seeds

2 tsp Ground Coriander

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper


Preheat grill to medium heat.  In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and form into 4 patties.  Grill 4 – 5 minutes a side.  Serve with a tomato slice on a bun (I use gluten free) I typically also add an ounce of half fat cheddar to increase the protein for myself and male clients as well as carrots and low fat dressing to hit proper calories.

With Bun — Calories: 422     Protein: 27 g     Fat: 14.5 g     Carb: 43 g
